The EU runs between 49 and 58 decibels.
I posted a chart elsewhere already, but an example is, noise doubles for every 3dB, and then goes way up from there.
"Normal conversation" is about 60dB loud, so the EU is a LOT quieter than that, and even at full throttle is just under that level.
Show me ANY diesel APU etc that can do that, and I will be truly impressed.

O.K. Got the pricing on the Backwall units:

    The 9,200 BTU is $1500
    The 13,500 BTU is $1800

They also sell a kit for $85 that is a color matched shroud to blend it into the truck's appearance... There is a backorder until August 19 for the smaller unit and the 26th for the larger..

I've got a 13.5k BTU on order for myself... basically, with the A/C (also heat), unit, the Genset, associated boxes, cords, etc, my "redneck APU" is gonna top out at $3100... that's less than 1/3 the cost of one of those perfessional models... My wallet loves me, the folks I park next to don't even KNOW they love me... ahhhh.... feel the LOVE!

    Jimmbuds Thanks this.

As much as I hate to do it, the new Star Car will be getting a 14" x 14" hole cut in the roof for a rooftop 13,500BTU ac unit. The portable works, just is no where near as convenient as a rooftop.
Let us know how the back wall deal goes, as heat rises, I was dubious about them myself.

I have a volvo 780 and was wondering if these rooftop units would work on a slant? I figure I could remove the sun glass above the drivers area and install it there if it would work.

Would like some feedback once you get this thing installed and use it for a few weeks.

Well I was wondering if we have some feedback on the A/C unit.
