Years ago, a lot of bridges like that had gusset plates that would hit the top right corner of your box unless you went through like he did...
Maybe he's just an old timer
Cabover Mike, ncmickey and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Reminds me of the bridge across the Mississippi River at Louisiana, MO on US 54. Very old and narrow...wide loads must call the local police for escorts across it.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Ive been on two bridges similar to that. I think one from Kentucky to Indiana across the Ohio south of Rockport and there is that 301 bridge Md to DC. Not excessively tight but enough to be fun.
It's a pretty bridge though. If you want another pretty bridge, google Papermill Bridge in TTR for a good write up from someone who is familar with it. It's only 20 feet wide. -
What’s the chase truck? If I had to guess, sounds like a Mack rd based off the jake brake through muffled exhaust. Only saying becuase I used to drive one and sounds awfully familiar.

If there isn't any on coming traffic sometimes I use it all too. I want to make sure I'm getting my road tax worth when I'm using it.
DieselDrivinDaddy and Cam Roberts Thank this. -
Says on the FB page that it was deleted from National Carrier's page. So, someone there saw it. Whether the right person/s saw it is another story.

The one on 301 crossing the Potomac certainly doesn’t have that sharp curve at the bottom of one end.x1Heavy Thanks this.

I had another truck smack the edge of my mirror on that same bridge a few years back. It's an intimidating bridge. The overhead members are very low and those little triangular gussets make you think you can't get close enough to the right.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Back in 2012, I delivered steel to this project in Vermont. They widened this bridge from 20 ft to 29 ft. pretty much chopped one of the trusses off and moved in out, then filled everything else in. Very expensive job, I guess it would've been cheaper to replace but they chose to preserve the 90 year old structure because it's Vermont's biggest truss bridge...
