There's so much more to this job than securing and tarping your load. A lot more. This is the opportunity for you to start your new CAREER. Not just a new JOB. Its true, there is a lot to learn, however, everybody does things differently. What works great for me may not work at all for you. And there's nothing wrong with that. I promise you, Maverick will teach you the proper way to do things. Don't cut corners, do it the way your taught. I love my job, and yes. You will see a lot of the country.

Don't wish your life away. Your orientation will start when its time to start. Go have a cup of coffee downstairs in the break room. I swear Little Rock has the best tasting coffee. Remember, your in school for the next few weeks. You will learn a lot. There's a lot of very good instructors there. Have fun with it.

I have been at Maverick for almost 4 years now. I have never had a single complaint about how I have been treated. It has always been very professional and courteous...even when I dented their truck.
Not everyone has a great experience at Maverick or at other trucking companies. Trucking is unlike any business that I have ever been in. Some things happen because that is just the way it is in trucking. No company can change what trucking is. So read the different threads and get a good idea of what the trucking lifestyle is. You need to be a little bit gypsy and not mind being by yourself away for your family. The hours can be strange, and you have to battle the elements, ignorant people, and stupid drivers in both cars and trucks. You need to be able to accept the fact that there are more things that you can not control than there are that you can control. It can be exciting and great or boring and dreadful.....just depends on how you can adjust to what is happening! Best of luck!
