Gotcha, I'm a lot younger than you so for me I don't mind the extra work. I wasn't even born in 78 lol.... Sounds like your days of driving should be ending in retirement soon right?

53 last august, yeah I have a few good years left...but don't want to do a p/d gig that isn't a cushy one. I'd rather be a night owl and put up with the weather....least my back won't bother me and I can just about forget about making a dispatcher look good.

Big Don and HalpinUout Thank this.

It doesn't take 30 years to get tired of being taken advantage of.

@HalpinUout, it really chafes at a man to go 20 miles out of your way to do a pickup in some other idiot's area because "he's busy" only to find him across the street in the Royal Farm store parking lot with his feet up in the dash reading the newspaper.

That's sucks... I get OT so for me he can sit there everyday, I wouldn't mind going out of route.

No it doesn't take 30 years, If that's what I inferred , I apologize, I tried to intercede the knowledge acquired over the same 30 years, and recognizing a wrong is being done.

The sad thing is, that if you are a good, dependable, conscientious driver, they will dump on you every time. Because "everybody knows that good old rocket237 will get 'er done!" It does get old after a while.

Yeah, we didn't either. Gotta love those labor laws that make truckers out to be less than human. . .

As for the o/t . It's a Farmers ,labor law......all the employer has to prove is if the truck "supposedly a farm truck" crosses a state line o/t need not be offered. Once a trucking company got wind of this loophole, (and it is a loophole) The government turned it's back on the commercial driver. Instead of righting a wrong, they keep there mouth's shut and prolly collect some lobby money to not do/say anything. Fair days wage for a fair days work.....Says it right in my contract book.........'bout all it says ,lol.
