We have them but there not active yet. Main problem I have is the "you didn't plan your trip right" excuse. If I'm 15 minutes from the termninal, home, or shipper I'm going there. As for the planning BS your right I didn't plan to sit for hours waiting to get a load after my clock has already started, I didn't plan to sit for ever to get loaded, I didn't plan on that accident I had to wait to get by. Main thing that's gotta change is how quickly the planners or dispatchers give you that load. I get loads all the time that have maybe 1 hour in there to fudge with.
Now if it's everyday your behind by hours then yeah you might look at your planning. But 15 minutes here and there..... BM.
Very real hypothetical.....

The grocery company i used to drive for had E-logs.
If we ran out of time even 2 minutes from the yard they would have us shut down.
They would drive a fresh driver over, have him log in and drive to the yard.
It was BS to say the least but they were all about rules to cover our rear. -
15 or 20 minutes every once in a while probably will not get you in a bind. An hour every other day?
Hell I'm on paper logs now and will not stop in Murfreesboro if I hit my 14.
1:There is no where to park without a Crete or Prime way to close to my truck.
2:No Officer in his right mind is going to believe I took a ten hour break 10 minutes from the yard. However I do log it like I did it.
But consistently reworking time is what they are trying to track. IMO better to be honest and have your integrity to stand on if something goes wrong. -
Agree with ya Tazz....
I get tired of reworking time myself but have done it to squeeze an extra hour or so out of my 14.
