Yeah, no state is. I like going there, lived there for 6 months in New London, my wife's got family there which is why we went there in out raggedy old truck, to pick up stuff from her uncles estate, the car would look funny with furniture on the roof.

This is such a state by state thing that Ridgeline has a point about consulting a lawyer. The state laws are all over the map in rules concerning using a truck for RV use or Personal Transport. Individual DOT officers are of differing opinions also, so it is best to have a prepared paperwork presentation to address all issues.

The RV thing seems simple but regulations are all over the map. Some states do require certain facilities and matching plumbing. That is often accomplished by hooking the trailer to the truck. But, what about when dropping the trailer of and bobtailing to dinner. Some state now consider that a commercial vehicle.

A chemical toilet for humans takes care of that. We once were taught by the Officer that because we had a chemical toilet in our sleeper waiting a few days at the dock to load (Thank you *&^%$ Americold Salinas CA....) it was not a problem anymore in our logs as a Team.

Plumbing? Half our Nation's History got away without it.

Regarding bobtailing to dinner, there used to be in my time a authorization card that relived us all responsibility to a load or 18 wheeler and take the tractor for personal use where necessary. (Sometimes on extended runs we throw in some money for fuel and reported same to dispatch so they can track the gallons burned as required in each state.
