Thanks and respect to all fellow Veterans on this and every day.

I was real impressed with my daughter's school. I just left a service they had honoring veterans. As some of you know my daughter has been a violinist for a long time. I was so proud of her and all the other students that played and sang and the way the school and staff held the ceremony.
As they played each Armed Service Song they asked all the vets of that branch to stand. Then after a few minutes they asked for families to stand if they had a loved one currently wearing that uniform. Then at the conclusion they asked all vets to stand. It was amazing how many vets was in that building in a small out in nowhere county school. Then they asked all vets to sit and for the student body and staff to stand and honor the veterans. I don't think there was a dry eye in the place.
The MC said that a few years ago a law was passed for the schools to offer a service on veterans day. They said that is not why they do it. They do it because it is the right thing to do. As soon as I left I got a text from my daughter thanking me for coming. She was not alive yet during my 1st deployment, but was in the 3rd grade when her dad left for a year for his 2nd deployment. She has paid a price and yet was thanking a veteran for something she herself endured. My hat is off to all veterans and the Graves County High School and all the families that have paid the price and all those who honor the veterans.
Especially to the ones that never came home alive and so proudly served. To the families that paid the price of the suffering of a losing a loved one who stood tall in death defending our freedoms and way of life. Thank-You and God Bless!trukngrl and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -

Thanks to all that have thanked a Vet. It's much different nowadays when you come home and strangers walk up to you and want to shake your hand instead of spitting at you. It's much different when someone honestly says thank you for your time and effort. Thank all of you that have restored the feeling that as a military person we did a good job. One that is right and for freedom. You made us feel like a patriot again so your efforts were not in vain. NOTHING FEELS BETTER THAN WEARING YOUR BEST UNIFORM AND WALKING DOWN THE STREET. OUR STREET U.S.A. STREET. tHE BEST.
trukngrl Thanks this. -
Why they do what they do for you and me. Remember this day on our home front?
