I think I'm asking is it too good to be true. How can this man hire me to drive a lousy 40 miles a day and pay me $650 a week. My family keeps saying if he couldln't afford to do it, he wouldn't be, which I want to believe because I know he is a business man.

If you're making $650 a week and only driving 40 miles a day I'd hang on to that job to gain experience. Most companies are not very forgiving to drivers who are tearing up the equipment. Don't be afraid to get out and look. Who cares if you're blocking traffic. They'll wait.
Airborne and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
My advice to you is to keep searching for knowledge, watch videos on youtube, read books, talk to other truckers, talk to people on here, to keep improving as a safe driver, and don't get lazy you could back into somewhere 100 times but 101 time something changed that could cause you hitting something. Have a plan, steps and routine while driving a truck is key. Good luck and be safe.
Airborne Thanks this.
