I found myself looking for a new job recently when the boss sold the trucks and i was not hired by the new company. In the process i found out about something on my dac by an old vindictive boss. I worked for him twice and apparently he has put unauthorized use of company funds as well as truck abandonment on there both times. This is not true. I did owe him a little money when i quit which i attempted to pay back and was told it was written off. The truck was returned to the shop both times i quit. I dont know what i can do if anything but after 25 yrs driving i find myself not being hired. This is my life. Please help!
vindictive ex boss and my dac report PLEASE HELP

Skip applying to companies that pull HireRight reports. After 25 years, you should be able to work anywhere and there are plenty of companies out there that completely ignore the HireRight information.

You can try http://dacfix.com/About_Us.php. I think they charge about $180 and claim a 70% suceess rate correcting info. Reviews for this website are mixed, some say a scam, others say it worked great.
You can get a free copy of your DAC from http://www.hireright.com/Consumers-Applicants.aspx. You can also dispute the information on your DAC info is on that webpage or by alling them as well. Good Luck..Giggles the Original and cuc12000 Thank this. -
Whether a company uses DAC or not,the past employer can still give the same info on a fax/mail past employent request.

Legally the only information you are allowed to give is dates of employment, eligible for rehire, and drug/alochol test

hence the reason someone came up with the DAC report. that circumvents any law of what can and can not be told to someone about your past work history. im sure there are other reasons behind DAC aka hireright, but if you stop and think about what i just said. it makes perfect sense. you can screw someone and actually get away with the deed.cuc12000 Thanks this.

That's what is required to be given,(+ any safety related incidents)the past employer can give whatever they want to beyond that if they choose to. There are no laws preventing them from doing so.cuc12000 Thanks this.

There are no federal laws, but state laws do vary on what informatoion can be released on a past employee. That said, outside of the trucking world, most companies are very careful about what information is released, for fear of a lawsuit for defemation.cuc12000 Thanks this.

This is so much silly stuff. Ask your Carrier, or Broker. It's their job to know. It's Yours to Know also.
