These topics are well and good. Like most 396.3(a)(1) is self explanatory the overall 393 is essentially a complete list of exactly what needs to be verified to be in good order. A good pretrip will catch problems long before the DOT man gets under there or into that truck. Part of it relates to the motor carrier or owner operator needing to keep records.
There has been a rash of people signing in to TTR and using their first post to resurrect threads long dead for years. Sometimes it is a good reminder for those of us who do not pretrip our trucks adequately and get tickets from DOT at the scale house.
