It would be interesting to see someone that has a Sprint device and get a comparison. I have Sprint now, totally different modem though, and the service is pretty good in most areas. I wonder if this is a problem with this device. I'd definitely need that info before I make the jump.

Also, you have to keep in mind that us drivers are different than someone who is trying to set it up at their home in some remote area. I seldom have problems with mine, but when I do, the problem always gets solved by relocating to a different area. The guy living in a remote location where he can't get cable or DSL is probably going to post a bad review if it don't work in his house.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I never go there so that's not much of a problem. My only problem with Sprint's network is the lack of 3g in Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi along I 20. It's 2g there and it's pretty slow. Luckily I can tether my AT&T phone when I'm in that area, just enough to get my email and what not, because I'm doing it under the radar with no tethering plan. Other than that, Sprint pretty much serves my needs, since I don't go out west. I just got my ear on the ground on this deal, $20 cheaper and supposedly unlimited. I'm thinking I might wait a couple months before I make a decision, I want to see how other people in other forums I frequent get treated by Virgin, and how "unlimited" it really is.

I use it everywhere, Just came out of Columbus ,Ohio. You have to constantly refresh the page your looking at so it uploads right.Just getting on hotmail takes 10 min.The funny thing is I down loaded part of an audiobook and it does fine.....110 megs....weird. Sometime I can watch Youtube and sometimes I cant....I guess to Sprint ,Virgin Mobile is a second class citizen.

I'm reading the same thing on other message boards. Sprint is not allowing Virgin costumers to have any joy with these cards. One guy posted speedtest.net results with both cards inserted in his home router, and the Sprint card was twice the speed of the Virgin card.

I apologize for starting this thread. It seems Virgin wasn't the deal I hoped it was.

Why pay $40.00 if you can pay only $25.00!!!

Get Samsung Intercept ($249.00) with unlimited text, web, email, and 300 min. then tethering to you laptop (usb connection Ubuntu 10.04 come with the drivers/ windows xp need service pack 3 + Ethernet/RNDIS driver windows 7 is ready) for the min. get a Google voice phone number forward to your cell # and you have unlimited min.

How is this Unlimited? All google voice does is forward the call to the specified number. I use it if someone is wanting me to do some side work for them and I have the calls forwarded to my cell phone, with the caller ID showing my GV number so I know what kind of call it is. But I am still using over the air minutes on my phone. Can you elaborate a bit more?

    Thanks

    James

ok heres the deal. this is a nice little unit for someone checking email or browsing a forum. I know I have one in my truck. I download a lot of music and tv shows. The unit resets so often and shuts off and usualy is running 2g speeds. BUT WAIT!... they just sent out an email saying anyone using over 5gig on the unlimited packed will now suffer slow speeds until next months billing cycle!

I modified my at&t phone to tether and have been much happier. I am not saying don't buy it but you really get what you pay for. I also have at&t unlimited(back in the iphone days) and now I use my android phone as a wifi hotspot
