    I live in Elizabeth City NC, Im sure you are familiar with the area. Just curious if this is a viable freight lane on the 6/1 rotation. Pay,benefits, any other things/pointers you think i should know or have.

    One of our drivers, maybe more but 1 that I'm friends with, lives in E-City. He does the 6-1. You get 25% and there money is always good. Only thing that I'm irritated about is I was hired as a road driver and since we took over Honda it's rare that I get to stretch my legs. They are pretty straight up about everything in recruiting. They don't like hiring people and not have them last. The equipment is great!!! I pretty much feel like an owner operator here sometimes. I get 1 dispatch call a day to check in. They let me run how I want for the most part. Come to think of it I don't think anyone from my company, except for other drivers, has seen my truck in over a year that I've been here! Lol!.

    Just got the call from VTC. Start orientation next week. They seem pretty straightforward. My ONLY question is about home time. Running the NE, specifically north NJ on a 6/1, one driver and the dispatcher told me drivers are home every night 85-90% of the time. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

    I live on Long Island, will be running out of the Ridgefield Park railyard for the most part. One driver told me 6 months he was only out 1 night 1 time so far. Dispatcher told me 85% of the time home daily. Just looking to see how accurate that might be.
