Verizon has 4g coast to coast on I80 with a minor drop around Crescent Valley, NV & near the sisters in WY; never had an issue on the flats.

Only other problem areas are I72 from Hannibal, MO clear to Springfield, IL - unexplainable & unacceptable.
    I40 near Cuervo, NM
On TN111 south of Spencer, TN
& some REAL backwoods backroads in the WV/VA/NC Appalachian mountain areas that no trucks would have ever a regular need to go...

Get a new phone. Both my verizon and sprint NON lte phones work all the way slightly past wendover before cutting out. Albeit one dead spot in the desert with my new verizon phone. Didn't have that with the old phone.

Depends on the phone. But half of nevada and half of nebraska don't work with my old phone. Haven't been that way with my new phone yet. In wyoming, sprint note2 works better then my verizon note2. In nevada, my new verizon s6 works better then my old verizon note2.

I'd like a device that works the first time, I'd rather not spend over and over testing the new and the old.

    it gets to spendy,

it's not a matter of testing old and new. it's a matter of keeping up with the technology.

2 years ago. LTE phones weren't out. Can't test what hasn't been produced yet.

Today's newer LTE phones are getting better coverage. then yesterdays NON LTE phones.

Putting all that aside, however. Different phones also have different radio chips. Not every phone is going to have the same coverage with the same carrier. ((( 2 people with verizon in one house. 1 works, the other can't get reception. )))

    dca Thanks this.

I guess this thread is about making life better for people who are OTR.

Enough of the cell coverage chatter! There's plenty of threads for that. I started this thread to talk VR entertainment on the road.
