I bought a Vitamix-style blender today because I want more vegetables/fruit in my diet. Now my question is, what to put in it. It came with smoothie recipies, but they're all based on using yogurt, ice cream or sorbet. Add, they read more like daquiris and dessert drinks than smoothies. I'm looking for the restorative smoothies. Do you have any site recommendations for such recipies? I like Joe Cross and I am starting with his site first. I was also curious if any of you add spirulina or other types of protein? Should I just do the straight veggie smoothies and keep some boiled eggs on hand?

I am stopping at a grocery store tomorrow, so I can get started.

Do u have a truck with a/c outlets and a sink in it or something?

I just driver a regular truck with a sleeper and I wish I had kitchen appliances in this thing but if I did, I wouldn't know where to wash them at...truck stop bathroom???

dude if you need smoothies and "sorbets" in your diet everyday you are in the wrong line of work bud. i love my veggies as well and when i crave them i pull into a petro or a ta and hit the buffet table. wish i had the time to go wash my appliances after making fancy desserts on the truck. fancy as i get is a wire basket to heat my cans of chili tied to the engine block lol

    Restorative smoothie recipie:
3 cups Flying Pilot coffeeish sludge
    3 Sudafed extra strength
    2 generous pinches of Copenhagen
    .....Caffeine, Nicotine, Ephedrine.....
    Hammer Down

All jokes aside I'll be watching this thread. Been thinking of getting one of those little nutribullet things.

    Lmao that was funny

I have a nutribullet at home, I swear to you, that thing is ruthless. It breaks everything down into a puree or a smoothie. When I didn't do OTR I used that thing every day. Its easy to clean, strong plastic cups, strong durable motor, blades are strong. Just buy it.

Did you even read my post? Go back and reread for comprehension. -5 points.

The buffet is one of the worst choices you can make if you are trying to eat healthier. The hot dishes have to be made with extra oils and fats to keep them from drying out under the hot lights. The fruits and veggies are treated with anti-wilt additives unless they are peaches from a can. If you have any camp skills at all, you can do better than the buffet. I know a few folks on here have broken down how much money you save cooking your own food from scratch, too.
