When my wife and I were on a temporary health kick we just did a basic protein shake with whey powder and milk then added whatever we wanted for taste. I much prefer fruits to veggies so I would usually add strawberries and bananas with a little honey and flax seed. Peanut butter worked pretty well too. I know it's not exactly what you were looking for but it's gotta be more helpful than telling you to get a different job.

Many thanks. I am still debating on proteins. I didn't think of peanut butter. I love PB.

I have the opposite problem from most people in that I have a terrible time gaining weight, stupid high metabolism. The protein mix I used was specifically for people trying to gain weight had like 1500 calories per serving, I did two a day plus eating normal and I've still never gotten over 200 lbs in my life.
For use in a smoothie for normal people I would go for whatever straight protein you can get. Whey used to be the only option now there's a couple others but just find something pure then get the other nutrients through the other stuff you put in it. Whatever you do get a good protein powder, the cheap stuff makes you gassy
You can also get plenty of protein in them from natural sources if you don't want to use powder. -
Taking a break at a motel tonight due to A/C conveniently breaking on a run to South Texas. Still keeping this up, though. Tonight's blend: celery, carrots, beets, chard, spinach, kale, ginger, fuji apple, red pear, kiwi and ginger. I know what it looks like, but it's tasty.
I ate two hard-boiled eggs earlier for my protien. That's easy enough today. I'm not really doing much except watching TV and doing paperwork.

for a blender, i do Kale/spinach, somekind of berry, such as blue, or black-razz. and a banana. some ice or gatorade, sometimes Aloe Vera juice to adj the thickness.
i do juicing at home, and that's more intense on the veggies for me. i usually don't do more than 4 ingrediants at a time.....rabbiporkchop and Criminey Jade Thank this. -
Basically what I did since I started training two years ago was add what my daily multi-vitamin lacked plus superfoods and other supplements.
Banana, pineapple, blueberries, green tea instead of water/milk, serving of raw old fashioned oats, chia seeds, baby spinach (alternate with kale), carrots, half a celery stick, an apple and a scoop of organic whey protein.
Serves as a meal replacement and breakfast shake. Find what your diet lacks and what your body could use more of then add antioxidants & natural energy boosts.
That wheat grass is a great idea. Will look it up.Criminey Jade Thanks this. -
Downtime (against my will). I spent this afternoon blending two batches for the next couple of days. (1) Mango, flax, blueberries, blackberries, fuji apple, spinach, beet root. (2) Pineapple, orange, parsley, mint, sweet potato, chard, celery, red pear, carrots. I plan on eating almonds along with both of these.
I'm also working some bugs out of my process. The bucket is good for scrubbing, but I am using too much water dumping it out. I want a small tub just for rinsing so I can keep my soapy water until I am done.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Sounds exactly like Purina dog food, lots of vegetables and for extra protein they use chicken by-products,,,,I mean after you purée it ....what's the diff ? By the way, you may switch of and get the kind with beef, pork or fish,,,,,
