My outfit was doing US to Can for Walmart, and just before I left in July 24, they told us there would be no more product coming from the US. When I talked to the sales girl, she told me Walmart's Non-Grocery Volumes were down 80+%. So in Jan 2026, It can only be worse as Canada continues to collapse. (latest CBC report, says 62% of Canadians are technically bankrupt)
Sobey's Fleet has reduced runs to stores also, and Loblaws is no longer using any contractors, only Loblaw Fleet. So even grocery volumes are down, according to guys working at those DC's. Costco is rocking tho, and XTL is still hiring, trying to keep up. -
Loblaws is still using 4trax.

I can believe it. Couple trying to keep up appearances with financing everything and it will catch up with you eventually. I heard people are financing Skip and Door Dash now.

Does 4Trax haul for anyone else these days? or are they basically considered part of Loblaws fleet, like XTL is to Costco?

I still see lots of scotlynn with their will never own trucks pulling loblaws and young systems too . young system definitely has lost a bunch of work to other competitors though. I remember when they had the majority of the runs from loblaws . I heard it’s either a old loblaws lawyer or dispatcher that owns young systems
I would never drive a Loblaws truck because they don’t know what they’re doing . One minute it’s were shutting down this warehouse . then it’s no we’re keeping it open like with ottawa that they finally did close but after years of going back and forth and they built a new warehouse in cornwall . Then it’s let’s get rid of all of our drivers and out source to 3rd party carriers. The next minute it’s let’s start running our own trucks again . they can’t make up their minds and end up screwing over their employees . i know they got rid out their loblaws shunt drivers and outsourced that too in cambridge a few years ago but those guys were pricks anyways with the whole were union guys and better then everyone else and you better fellows the rules around here to a T mentality or be in troubleLast edited: Jan 8, 2026
