Vocational Tech School vs Roadmasters

I don't know but this job has made me Mcfatter.

McFatter is a Broward County Public School specializing in technical training in high wage, high demand career fields.

Hmm, so why do they offer a CVD course?
I kid, I kid. The CVD program looks about the same as the one I took at a Tech. school on the other side of FL. It will probably be cheaper than Roadmaster, too.

 

I'm going to Ridge Career Center in Central Florida. It's a Vo-Tech. Part of the Polk County School System. It's twice the schooling(320hrs) for less than half the cost of Roadmaster. I filled out fafsa online and qualified for about half the tuition. When I went in to see the financial aid lady at RCC, she said they weren't even gonna need to use the federal money. They had enough state money to pay my full tuition. Can't beat that. Won't find that kind of assistance at Roadmaster. And I have had one recruiter tell me she would take students from my school but not from Roadmaster.

 

Before you commit to either, call the job serivce office in your county. They may have a program and $$ available similar to what xlsdraw mentioned. That's the way to go. If that's not an option, and if you can hold out for the 9 weeks, go to the tech school. I'd also contact any other community college around where you live and see if they have any programs.

I went to Roadmasters and paid their $4500 and was on the road to orientation in 3 weeks. In retrospec, I'd have done things a bit differently but no turning back now.
