Hello there, I'm running out of options I was driving down i65 and all of sudden my voltmeter showed high amps with warning light about a minute or so later I lost headlights and dash lights. Then my Atc light came on to limit my power.
2 weeks ago I had a new alternator put on by loves. The batteries are all new also . Why would it charges too fast and what are my options

Had an issue very similar to this on a Pete back in 07. Turns out the mechanic that swapped the batteries hooked them up wrong. Might be your issue. Might not be.

Or the new alternator is a POS....With good batteries it should charge a constant 14.0 to 14.1....right in that area. I would have the batteries tested unhooked from the truck to see if one could have a bad cell...Then get the alternator tested...The voltage regulator could be acting up in it.
