That would require paying for insurance for 3 months for a truck not being used.

Try calling the local office and see if they can help.

Yes, do that, you can drop coverage to liability only for those 3 months (consult with your insurance agent), but don't revoke the authority. Brokers will treat you like new start up when you go active again. Might have different insurance rates too

They make you pay 1 mo. extra after you stop your auth. in case of a clam that is turned in, so may be best to keep it going?

I have a little experience with that. Progressive forgot to send insurance info to the FMCSA.

I think its a little silly that I am forever in debt to the insurance companies that want there monthly payments if I needed to take a break.

Your right about some brokers treating you as a new operation, hell a lot of the times brokers don't even know what there reading off the FMCSA website.
    Safety scores taught us that

Yep this sucks for sure! I had no way of knowing it going in.....but I wanted my 7 months unused premium refunded when I got hurt. Makes sense, right? (I did keep the policy alive though.....$200 per year was the lowest my agent could figure out how to write up. I didn't want insurance seeing me as new!)

Bam I get back in and everyone sees me as new and lost several loads because of it. OOIDA and NASTC have never said a word about it that I have read.

FMCSA/DOT also punishes you with a $80 reinstatement fee!! BS.

    6wheeler and baha Thank this.

No need to suspend it. If it is Only for 90 days, park the vehicle, keep expenses reciepts and document compliance including Insurance until you return. Unless the $$numbers don't do you good then ask the State if it can be put "On hold" for 90 days.

    Not good to "voluntary revoke"
Just put it in a drawer and Park the vehicle. (That if, You already paid All your dues, also you will not be reporting your States miles.) Talk to your Tax man.

Did you call the Insurance Co.?
To verify if "Parking the Truck for Long term Repairs"...would be considered for an Insurance reduction Or? any other possibility.?

Yea it's a racket. The choice that I have is cancel policy or pay it. That's pretty much what they said
