I am in the market for a new truck. I have it narrowed down to a 07 volvo 780 with the d12 or a 07 t600 cummins 86 studio. The t600 is 10k more. is it worth the money? Which will cost less in the long run? any info would be cool. Thanks.

JAT but why are you looking at the 07 and not the 06 unless its with the 06 motor, but if it were up to me it would be the t600 JMO

Well I went with a new Volvo 780 but not a 07 I found a good buy on a new 06. the kenworth was 20k more. I liked the kw a little better but not 20k better and I should get better milage on the volvo with the d12.

This isn't even a fair comparison. Your comparing a Cadillac (Volvo 780) to a Chevrolet (KW 600). I like KWs, but you have to go with the Volvo in this case.

Kenworth has a good mix of traditional trucker and new age technology but if you want state of the art aerodynamics, user friendly design and comfort as well as safety, you've got to go with Volvo.

I'm gonna have to disagree completely here. I'm currently in a Volvo, and it's not impressive at all.
Now, I had one of the first VN610's and I loved that truck. (N14 460 with a Super-10, 3.55s and 22.5LP's) Not a squeak, rattle or problem in over 100K. But from what I've seen lately, Volvo has suffered the same fate as FL--great at first and now mass-produced junk. The 670 I drive now has squeaks, thumps, rattles and lots of body roll. The seating position and ergonomics are horrible, and the ride is harsh. Every now and then the brights and wipers will activate for no reason at all.
I haven't driven a KW lately, so I can't speak for them. But as for Volvo, all I can say is that they aren't what they used to be. :smt009
