Working on new gaskets and turbo and found this in between the turbo and exhaust manifold. My poor Volvo has been trying to breath through this the whole time! And oh shnit I forgot to put it back in! Lol

    Omg is that right?

Looks like someone change that at some point and put the wrong turbo manifold gasket in it.. yikes that is the size of something that should be on a car

Ya, this is meant to back flow the exhaust gases thru the EGR. I will put it back on... someday

Here is a Volvo D13. It is built right into the gasket.

You know that plate in my hand the ports for that are half the size of the turbo and exhaust manifold. Crazy!

I already test this before but no difference, but less Egr flow, the purpose of the restrictor gasket is to increase the exhaust manifold pressure to be able to push the egr gas over the boost pressure in the intake manifold.

I got a quick question. Until a couple of years ago d13 came with the same restrictor plate on turbo mounting gasket i had an issue and was looking thru the diagnostics and now they were suggestion you change the turbo gasket if restrictor plate is present. this doesn't make any sense for me y would you build and sell something and then ask someone 2 years later to pay money to remove it.

I left the plate and gained a lot more turbo spool and top end power. I also have a certain three letter word that is closed too so this helped tremendously. :)
