While I was driving a got a bunch of codes with message for engine derate in <60 mins.Gauge from DEF went down. I made it to delivery with msg engine will derate at next truck stop. Last year I installed new batteries, rail and new battery kill switch. We checked battery connections, ground connections, cab and PDM fuses, DEF fuse, engine ECU connection, DEF connection, we tried different DEF ACM, checked all for corrosion and they all have voltage. Nothing has worked, still same codes except that code for transmission is gone. This is list of codes MID 144 PSID 230 FMI 5 MID 130 PSID 232 FMI 2 SPN 5246 FMI 0 SPN 641 FMI 9 SPN 3216 FMI 9 SPN 3226 FMI 9 SPN 1231 FMI 2 SPN 1231 FMI 9 Anyone has any ideas what to check next?
I know this probably sounds elementary and basic, but did you try and disconnect the batteries and then reconnecting? Sometimes if the voltage gets low, for whatever reason, it will stack up codes like that.
Yeah. I tried that several times, while I was cleaning all connectors and also batteries where disconnected overnight.
Try clearing them using the dash and see what comes back.....that many codes at once means usually "a chain effect" were one code causes a whole bunch to follow. Id have to look up the codes to see what they are but give the above a shot first....
Correct. Positive wire on main harness from nox was was damaged and touching the frame. Problem solved
Yep most of the def problems in Volvo is wire harness. I work on them every day 99% of trucks I work on is Volvo 2011 and up. When u see a lot of codes like in ur case that’s 100% harness
My Volvo has low voltage and idles rough. Checked the batteries and alternator and everything came out fine. They thought it was the started saying it was a bad/corroded starter solenoid/wires. Got it fixed and still having the same problem. Seems like nobody knows what the problem is
