Volvo DEF consumption

That’s darn impressive fuel mileage you sure you did 1250 miles on half a tank.. or is gauge off by a bunch.

 

I don't think I've ever changed the doser if you mean the one that is on the bottom front of DPF canister. I cleaned it up when I cleaned everything else recently. Perhaps I should.

 

The fuel gauge doesn’t move too much when you’re running down the road at 8+ mpg.

 

You guys saying “gauge is only at half a tank” make me laugh.
Is it a 15 gallon tank or a 50 gallon tank?

Not sure how it's setup on volvos, just follow the lines from def tank you will find it. Easy enough to do yourself, need couple pairs of vice grips to pinch coolant lines. Eventually they get caked up enough they're ineffective or I've heard the nozzle shoots more out than it thinks it is.

 

Gotcha, I thought you were in a Volvo. Yes, I know where my doser is but was making sure we were talking about the same part. There is another module on the left side of D13 blocks that controls all of this including the 7th injector and some people call it the doser but it has another name.
