@mover man
Your truck is EPA 10 or 13 . Also it's Volvo. After 2010 Volvo truck with Volvo engine are only equipped with I-Shift transmission. As @nasriza said - your output speed sensor is located at the very back at the right side of the transmission. Unplug it and make sure to put some tape over the harness connector so you don't have to deal with I-shift electrical issues. Once you start driving you will not have speedometer and shifting will be different than normal but it will be ok. Also do you have manual shifter for your trans? If you do use it in manual because in auto you'll loose power. Hope that helps

That's correct. The 7th injector is located just after the turbo - mounted on top of the Venturi pipe and there are 2 types. One is electric module and the other is dirrect pressure doser. As a PM i like to clean them and replace gaskets every 6 months. Extremely common issue is clogged doser head. Very simple to doKB3MMX Thanks this.

So here is something not a lot of people know about the diesel doser specially on volvo with EPA 13 should be 2013 and up, the highest failures of dosers actually comes from the control valve or control block which is located on driver side right in the middle of the engine, that being said that control block has a feed of constant air pressure to boost up injection pressure if you go down the line right by the air dryer there is a check valve that needs to be replaced as well with it, and all the failures mainly come from the one and only air dryer cartridge not being serviced at proper intervals or being replaced with something from older truck with out the coalescing abilities and it is letting a bit of oil in the air system making a bunch of problems down the line. most people just replace the actual valve not a huge deal about 350 at volvo no one sees the system as a whole and they have repeated failures within a year.KB3MMX Thanks this.

I was one of the 4 Drivers who get the right to drive them.
so don't tell me i have limited or no knowlege on that.
Probably you don't know WHY the DEF tank lid is blue!
Sorry Val77 but you got 36 Postings and show up and you like to tell us now that you are now our holy saver..
lol -
Driving something with DEF doesn't mean understanding something with DEF. All it means is--------- 15 years ago you've drove it........and 15 years after you drove it you still don't understand it my man .
-
Funny thing is that at least 60% of people working on this #### have no idea what is going on with def at least 60% if not more.KB3MMX Thanks this.
-
I completely agree with you. Most of the time just following the service steps on the particular diagnostic tool one is using is npt enough. Common sense and thinking outside the box is needed. I'd probably say 80 to 90% of mechanics don't understand it correctly.
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Do you mean replace the air dryer and cartridge or just replace the cartridge every year?
-
Only cartridge if air dryer is 100% functional
-
If you live in a humid climate i would replace it 2 times a year.
Once before winter/rainy season,once after.
Specially if the compressor is getting on in years.
