    Hi Can anybody explain to me what the 7th injector is on a Volvo motor. New to Volvos so not sure what it is. here how it can effect power and fuel mileage, and would like to know how to check it. thanks

    7th injector is located on the exhaust pipe in front of DPF filter; during REGEN is spraying diesel in this high temperature gases and burns the sots/carbon deposit in DPF filter;
    How can affect mileage? my D13/2008 is running 1 regen every aprox 2200 miles and lasts aprox 23 minutes/ burns aprox half gal for this; but i know O/Os with Cummins motors 2008 and newer need endless regens, every 200 miles, and waste lot more diesel, sure mess up the fuel economy. How to check it, i don't know; i have 1,192,000 miles never touched it or cleaned it, still works fine.
