My choice was between a 10-speed Volvo, or an automatic Mack. Personally with the potential of running mountains in the winter, I prefer a 10-speed transmission.

We have a guy that loves m drive in the Mack he drives, and he's in Colorado, too.

It isn't an Eaton Ultrashift at any rate. I hear you, though, and prefer a 10 speed, 9 speed, 13speed,and my favorite is the 18 speed.

10 speed is a narrower shift pattern, so it is a bit different, but anymore, now, I'll take a manual simply because it's easy for me to drive well.

the fogging of the lights is due to a leak somewhere that water is getting into it. Take the unit off and see if it is cracked. Volvos are problematic with their units. Replacements are not expensive and could be a fix for a while.

Remember that putting in larger wattage lamps will cause more fogging and piss people off when you blind them. I hate it when I get a truck behind me and I can't see anything in front of me because I'm blinded by the light in my mirrors.

I drove a 2005 Volvo and it had the same issue. I adjusted the head lights
up and that did seem to help a little. Also I made sure to keep the lenses
clean on the outside. Even a little road grime will keep the head lights
    from being bright enough.

Yea, all of our day cab Volvo's are the same. Normal lights are barely adequate, while the brights are like noontime. Could be why I see must people driving with fog lights on all the time a Volvo drivers. Who knows, it may actually help those crappy Volvo lights.

Wow those must be on older truck. I have a 2015 780 with the LED lights. I love those lights! I can see every thing well.

I don't like the LEDs, especially in the rain. And road signs seem to be excessively reflective these days, which bothers me more with LEDs. I also don't like the fact that the low beams stay on when switching to high beams.

I find the projector low beams adequate on the '13 I drive, and the high beams light it up like a prison break.

I had a low beam go out a few months ago, and the Penske guy just happened to be at our yard as I was getting ready to leave. I talked him into replacing both, and they are definitely better. Not 'wow' better, but noticeable. We also had one get damaged in a fender bender a while back, and the whole assembly got replaced on one side. That one is a 'wow' difference.
