Volvo Outside Temperature Spiking

    My Volvo vnl780 displays outside temperatures that jump from actual temperatures of about 30 degrees Celsius to outrageous temps of about 90 degrees celsius. I've tried replacing the ambient air temperature sensor located in the headlight harness by the hood, but the problem continues. Could it be a problem with the headlight harness itself?

    If i want to know the temp i stick a finger out the window .
    Its either hot , cold or just right.
    If i want to know if the wind is blowing and from what direction i get my finger wet .
