Really wires run to VECU throught MCFC connector (chassis-cabin)

U can find wires 500-501 (twisted pair). They run to B6-B20 pins on VECU

    just rewire to be sure

    Tun Thanks this.

One of the speed sensors had a little oil. The other was old.
Unfortunately the truck is still the same.
No codes to read and speed 50 m/h max.
I took it to the Volvo dealer. We'll see.

Leo, VSS is always installed on tail of transmissin

If VSS signal is bad VECU limits engine RPM.

What kind of VSS is used - it depends on tranny brand and market. For US vehicles magnetic sensor is the most popular. But with zf transmission switched type (really hall effect sensor) may be used.

In EU they use tachographs and it sends speed data to VECU and engine ECM.

So depending on tranny brand pulses per DS revolution differ too (16 ore 8).

for datalinks and can lines volvo use twisted pairs

with the same problem i use to rewire. cut and put new wires

But IMO, stock wires are too weak and I use 2x1mm2 cabel for outdoor application
