Very possible it does not have it set up. No way to check unless you have PTT or go to dealer to have the information.
Could be right. Guy was too stupid to know all he needed was a fuse for the apu to work. Or that the power inverter didn't work cause he didn't have the cable connected at the battery. That says a lot.
Yep, I would not trust anything he said. I think if you take to dealer it is like 150-200 to pull the information. Could tell them to enable it while looking it up just to make sure it gets done as it will cost no more. Then tell them you want a print out of it all so you can figure out what needs to be adjusted.
I wouldn't have any idea what would need to be adjusted. I'm not sure if the regular shop I go to has the PTT tool. They'd be a lot cheaper, I think than a dealer. Would be nice though if that's all it would be is enabling the kickeown on it.
Even if you enable parameter without the updated pedal with a different part number it will not work need to replace pedal and change the lockdown parameter. For it to work. I can get u part number tomorrow always have a new one in shop.
Deleted original response, sorry misread what you said. Even if I enable the parameter the pedal still has to be changed? Even if the parameter wasn't ever activated? I see the hill start assist light come on in the dash to when I fire it up but no toggle switch to use it. Guess that's a parameter nobody enabled on this thing either.
everything is a matter of enabling of there are a few things called accessory kit that need to be programmed in order to unlock certain functions. but yes the pedal has to be replaced the part numbers are different from the one you have to the pedal that has the kick down capability. Hill start assist the only switch that is on your dash should be to disable it, they use certain traction control sensors to make sure the hill assist is working. I dont know what kind of routes you run but next time if you make it thru chicago suburbs i can take a look and see what i can do .
Wow. So in 2013 when they built the truck that was supposed to be XE, with the premium shifter they put a non-functioning kickdown or "clicker" pedal in this truck? How much are these pedals, or what should I expect to pay to a dealer to get the pedal and to have the kickdown and hill assist enabled? As for the hill assist, there isn't anything on my dash to enable or disable it. I just see the indicator for it when I start my truck. I suppose its a possibility it doesn't even have the function and just has the light.
That is a possibility depends on the vehicle they got a lot more advanced coming in 2016 and up as far as the hill assist goes or the dumber the drivers got, if you have the premium shifter you do not need the kick down option you spending money for no reason at that point. i think pedal is around 300 i don't know what the dealer would charge for parameter change maybe 250 maybe less. it is literally 2min worth of work once you hook up to it.
I would just rather mine kickdown on its own than press the button. Maybe I just need to replace the shifter. Buttons sometimes have to be pushed twice, or maybe I'm just too impatient. Bruckners when I called here in Dallas about having it looked at and the pedal replaced they said they charge $197 per hour labor, 2 hours to "diagnose" even with me telling them I want a new accelerator pedal. But that the $197 would be applied toward the total repair also. Either way 2 hours seems completely inflated to plug it up, check some stuff in the computer and replace the pedal. It isn't hard to replace the pedal is it? Just unbolt, unplug pigtail and voila, or is there some type of trim code or something that has to be put on the pedal? I am thinking its a simple plug and play kind of thing, but could be wrong. With the exception of course of activating the parameter for the kickdown.
