I like Cummins motors. The N14 is a good solid motor, but I also believe the ISX is a good line too. Mine is 535 hp and pulls like a beast.

 

hi there, also looking at the volvo780 how much do they weigh with 1/2 a tank of fuel,how high is the fifth wheel hitch to the ground and what is a good price for one with around 325k to 350k miles all answers r greatly appreciated.

 

bobbyrayl, I looked on truckpaper.com when I found my truck. Checked prices around the country before I purchased. My truck weighs around 19000 with around 3/4 tank. Fifth wheel height depends on tire size, fifth wheel style. I think when I was looking those trucks around 325000 went for around 68 to 73000.

 

larry where are those good mechanics i have also a volvo 670 good truck no major proablems bat good mechanics is a isuee for me i can not find a good one so if can shere your good mechanics i would reale apreciate.thanks.

 

larry did you disconect the egr valve i have mine is a diefrent animal ruans better ,fuel millage increse ,only good things aboute it.

 

780 is gest like mine if is 07 or older with cummins is 15l 525 hp good truck be awere of the front axel when you are heavy,because cummins engine is heavier then volvo engine almost 500p betwen them.

 

I dont think that cummins is heaver than a volvo engine bobtail with a 1/4 tank of fuel I am 11600 on my steer that goes up to 12200 when I hook to a empty trailer loaded I normally run between 12500-12900 on my steer Have been as much as 13260
