I'm pretty surprised there is not more Volvo bashing on this thread like usual. I'm not against any trucks but I really am pleased with my 2015 780. I drove Freightshakers and Intl's before.
So far, no injector problems at 660k. 2 were replaced under warranty in the first 500k (was a fleet truck). APU keeps me from idling and when I do I get a regen overnight always. I didn't learn this until the past couple weeks when I've been out in the single digits or negative temps. Also, truck had a doser valve and a DPF service right before I got it.
Problems I've had:
Headlights suck, looking for the best LED replacement.
Water pump, changed myself in a couple hours. DON'T pay a dealer a grand for this. It's simpler than any car water pump I've done.
Surge (overflow tank) cracked and leaked. Got a cheap replacement online.
Tilt steering wheel cable breaks on all of em. Every dealer has plenty in stock. Fixed myself but not an easy job the first time.
Fuel sender died a few weeks ago and yes, my dumb ### quickly ran the truck out of fuel because I didn't know. Won't do that again. Every dealer has these in stock too, $150. 5 minute fix in the left tank.
Mine has the cheap shifter with no manual select. I'll be changing this out. This is just about a necessity if you run over the road. I'm told around $1k. Well worth it for up and down grades.
