Ahhh....Life as a line driver, a completely legal book, an 11 hr. out and back and nearly 90 thou a year. Meanwhile, you hang your ### out there running two books to scratch out a living that equals pennies per hr. and you completely disregard CSA 2010. Hmmm.. Wonder who's gonna have the last laugh here.

I was a line hauler. I was on call 24/7 for several years. So there were many times when I was awake 24 to 30 hours straight. falling asleep at the wheel sticking my head out the window to stay awake. That is real safe. Who would have had the last laugh when I wiped out a mini van or something. Besides line haulers run in pairs, and wear little shorts and stuff..

They are a smaller outfit based in Texas. My Dad drove for them back in the early 80's (probably when they first started). I heard a lot of bad stuff about them from my Mom (who did my Dad's books) and I know he moved on to work for Brady here in So Cal hauling material instead of reefers once they got divorced. Pretty funny... I'm sitting here looking at a pic of my brother and I on that same truck with the "W.L. Davis" sign on the side... ha ha!

No kidding. My brother worked for them. He would start out in Fort Wort. Drive to El Paso Texas, That would take 10 hours. Then he would throw that log sheet away and continue onto Phoenix. Get a two or three hour nap anthen deliver to Phoenix and Tolleson AZ.That took him about twelve hours. Then he would drive west of Phoneix about three hours nd hide his papers and back log then go on to California get three hous sleep deliver then pick up then head back to Texas.
