W9 form for own authority

    Ok so I started my own buisness...multimember llc that's an s-corp..my question is..on the w9 form..it asks for name (line 1) and buisness name (line 2)..do I put my name on line 1 and put my buisness name on line 2?? Any info is great thankx!

    No, only the business name. The first line is how your business name will be on taxes. For example, my name has a comma and an apostrophe in it. But those characters aren't allowed on the tax form. So mine looks like this:

    1. Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx XXX
    2. Xxxxx'x Xxxxxxxx, XXX

    The answer is the name you put in there is the name that belongs to the tax ID number you are using there. If it’s a company you put company name.
