Just picked up an all stainless replacement for my W9. The original one is toasted. How much of a pain is it to do? Any advice from someone that's done one would be appreciated.

    Vampire and pavrom Thank this.

If youre mechanically savy and relatively fit, and keep at it, can be done in about 5 hrs. Less if your help doesnt wander away on you.

Does the dash need to come out to undo the vent tubes attached to the duct box?

No, its all foam gasket fit on the engine side, you wont be messing with any of that if youre doing it right

Walks you through the whole process

At 2:25, they use a grinder, i recommend just using a drill if you can.

I appreciate the help but I'm looking for someone who has done this on a w9 personally. That video is not a w9. Maybe I'll call them myself since it's their box I bought. I watched the video before I even ordered one from them.

If you want to be that childish and refuse help from someone who HAS done it on a 2000 w9 less then 6 months ago, go ahead.

Also, the only functional difference from 87 through 2006 on the kws from t600 to w9 is how bad the air cleaner tubes get in the way and if the blend door actuator is electric vs air

It's childish to want correct information instead of second hand? I don't believe you've done this job yourself because if you had you would know that video leaves out A LOT of steps. Also, the video is a T800, not a T600.
