My 99 has been a 48 state truck. But lives the blessed life of west coast and Arizona mostly ... has very little rust anywhere. But, I had almost no airflow out of the box because the thing was rotted out and leaking air everywhere. Putting in a new box, with all new guts will change your life ... including the uprgraded blower motor.black_dog106 and rollin coal Thank this.

Well I was assuming the box was still complete (didn’t mean to but did) mine is solid but I’ve been in and out of dusty environments daily for years

Main truck is a 94 t600, i resealed all the exterior 6 years ago and blocked outside vent along with a new blower motor, blows okay, but its definitely due a new box as well, probably spring work on that one, w9, was a 2000 barely had any air, completely rotted, blows like a champ now, just gotta do the ac lines, compressor and rear expansion valve at the same time with a matched pair
-
I got tired of whatever expansion valves KW sells and their luke warm level of performance. Dont remember the part number, but got me a couple red dot expansion valves ... near freezer level cold, hurts my hands to have the ac blowing on the steering wheel. 40 degree air when it is 100 plus outside
I still have a york compressor ... YMMV if you have a sanden. I may make the transition over to a sanden. Had a lot of trouble with yorks until I bought a UAC made in Japan off amazon. -
Ah, yeah i moved to sanden since i had nothing but problems yearly on yorks, its been fine, but as for expansion valves, while ive had variance with temperature depending on who makes it, the biggest thing i found was if replacing one, replace both as a set, ice cold cab ac with minimal sleeper ac doesnt make me terribly happy, nor the other way around. That said, hoping replacing the box (and freeze switch) on the 94 finally allows the compressor to cycle properly, i replaced it 4 times and kept blowing up the yorks, the built in pressure relief in the sandens is worth its weight in gold for not exploding the clutch or compressor when freeze switch doesnt work right
