Agreed. Not sure why in the heck they changed such a great design? IMO, less control. The normal pedals are far more comfortable. I can even wear snip toe cowboy boots with the regular pedals, where with the hanging pedal it was very uncomfortable to drive. The dealer was clueless when I asked him.

Maybe the hanging pedal is better for guys with tiny feet?

Either way, good luck with your new rig. I wish you nothing but safe miles…and plenty of income to boot.

Sold my fld132 with a slow revving cat with a floor mounted pedal to a fast revving paccar with the hanging pedal makes it seem like there zero control of the throttle. Seems the hanging pedal has very little resistance as well which makes control that much harder.

Thank you, it seems like a pretty decent truck. Hopefully it'll be better than the one I sold.

@Vampire I ended up with a pedal from the salvage yard that had the same mounting holes for the sensor that my stock pedal had.

As you can see the sensor off the hanging pedal fits right on the old one

Ended up having to extend the wires for the sensor about 12 inches in order to mount the pedal and route the wires the way they are supposed to be. There's two sets of 3 twisted wires. They are the same 3 colors in each set, blue, green, and purple. I marked one of the twisted 3 with electrical tape in 2 spots and cut between to keep track of which ones went where, forgot to take a pic of that but you can see on the connector end sort of what they look like.

After that I plugged it onto the pedal and attached the wire loom to the holders.

Then it's just position it where you want it with the trim in place to make sure it clears and then drill some holes and bolt it down. Mine came with a metal plate that I used to sandwich the cab floor between.

It's 1000% better than the hanging pedal. You can rest your foot on it without it going to the floor.

Wonderful. With KW you get a real truck brake pedal, on the Freight shaker a real truck go pedal! Seems like new trucks are designed for ladies. Don't get me started on the wimpy Volvo pedals!

Does anyone know where to find the cover for the pedal on the williams? I am doing this swap on a 23 right now and would like the kenworth cover.

Go with some KW billet pedal covers. It will make everything nice and uniform. Either that or go to KW dealer and have them look up the part for you.
