Depends if the W9's are long or standard hood. I'd take a standard hood W9 over a Pete. I'd take a 379 over a long hood W9.

379 will have less space between seats. Not that big of a deal, if it does not have a sleeper door, getting stuff in and out can be difficult. Door seals tend to leak air and water. The hood always squeaked, even after liberal amounts of grease applied. Replaced a few mirrors, they vibrate pretty bad. Didn’t think storage was very good. Then I was out for extended times. The truck had a 550 cat, 18spd, 3:42.
Over all was not bad, just lots of little bugs and rattles.

I'm the opposite. W900L first, then either short or exhd Peterbilt.

I would go with @singlescrewshaker on this one. The spec you need is more important than anything. All things the same there it would just be whatever I could find the better deal on with good service records etc.

    singlescrewshaker and WREN Thank this.

I just can't stand that narrow grill. Doesn't look as mean as the regular one.

I haven't driven newer ones but have owned both a w900 and a 379 from the 90s era. Both are very nice trucks. But the w900 is heavier and has a much larger turning radius.

How tall are you not having enough leg room ?

I’m 6’8” with a 38” inseam and my knees are nowhere near the dash.

About 6'3 and 34 inseam. There's just not enough room to stretch my mangled left leg out, after about 8 hours behind the wheel my leg likes to try to drop me on the ground when I first get out.

    Tall Mike Thanks this.
