W900 Vs. W990

    The old 900As look nice too. If they'd just added a little width to the 900 hood and cab to make their Aero model it would look better, but they had to go change the whole thing.

    6-8 extra inches between the seats would have been nice. And I'm not even a fat guy, but I still love it regardless.

    I like being able to reach over to the other side of the cab easily, I'd rather have the extra 6-8 inches leg room, the old school 900s like that white/green one dont have a lot of leg room.

    Resale on the W900 vs W990 the W900 wins by a lot. Our T880's aren't holding resale value like the T800's did.

    I always thought because I'm lame and uncool that if I was going to buy a truck it would probably more of a fleet spec truck, maybe not a total base model, because you have to be comfortable, but after years of doing food service I've come to value things like good visibility, tight turning radius, for cornering and backing up, because I'm not the worlds best backer, well I shouldn't say that, I'm not the worlds best backer, I don't think I'm the worst, I'm just cautious about it because you go to older food terminals in older cities those places were built for straight trucks and old old timey tractor trailers when 40' was the maximum trailer length allowed on the road, so I always thought anything to save space and functionality.

    I mean it's one thing at some of these new age warehouses that have plenty of room to move and drop and hook freight, but these old time places retail stores are a different story.

    I remember one guy down at the Cleveland Food Terminal a few years ago came in there with this way over the top spread axle chrome refer trailer and this ridiculously long KW900 extra streatch wheel base tractor and it took this guy 20minutes at least of just back and fourth to get the trailer in the dock. It was plain stupid.

    Versus my self in my fleet spec Volvo day cab and 28' trailer back back back, pull up some straighten out and straight back to the door, whole thing took 5 minutes.

    I'll take the 20 minute attempt to backing the stretch KW as that's nothing compared to the 10-11 hours it's going straight down the highway.
