Has anybody swapped from a 4 spring front spring to 2 spring set up? Looking to get a better ride. Truck is a 1996 W900L pulling end dump got on the scale and front axle weighed about 9800 pounds loaded

Also any advice about dealing srping hangers to K100 would be appreciated

I changed out to 3 leaf packs when sag warranted replacement on mine. I'm happy with them. Dont know what you run for rubber. But if you want a better ride, top tier steer tires like michelins and the taller the rubber the better for ride quality. Love me some 11r24.5 16ply Michelin X Line Energy Z steers

I run the same brand except for low pro 24.5. Do you by chance have a part number or picture of the 3 leaf?

For your w900…Best ride would be air ride front end. If you want a better turning radius, swap in a wide track front axle. Be sure to put in the updated spring hangers as well.

Wide track Front axle: Meritor MFS+ 12k or 13,2k

Updated rear of front Spring hangers (mechanic will have to drill new holes in frame. It’s worth it…throw out that old spring hanger, as they are the source of cracked frames…there’s a reason they updated to the one below):

There’s a bunch of air ride kits out there. Some are cheap and problematic. Others are well built. The updated 12 gauge kits are much beefier. People had issues with their previous kits. But, which one you choose is up to you. Just don’t cheap out on it.

    Good luck.

are you not maxing out your gross weight when loaded? Or why are you running your front so light?

That’s usually how this truck has always scaled sometimes a little bit over 10k. Usually carrying 84,000

Im currently changing out my old shackles with these new ones because of a cracked frame. Have you done it?
What do you do to compensate for the distant to attach the hanger to the leaf?
The new hanger sits higher than the OEM version. I know you can lift up the leaf more but that would throw off the camber.
