Yep, the only thing that goes away after 7 years....(If you're lucky) is if you pay the bad debt off and wait 7 years, then it is supposed to be removed, but that doesn't mean your credit score will improve after that 7 years.
Wait til you hear this......

The law of contracts is the number one area of law that the courts deal with on a daily basis. Courts are very quick to enforce the terms of a contract as long as the terms of the contract are clear. The contract that you signed with CRE is written in legaleze but the terms of those agreements are very clear. Long story short, they agreed to provide you with training, which they did and you agreed to repay them either by working off the debt or paying with cash. In that the working option is closed to you, the payment in cash term is still enforceable in any court in this country. Courts are not real quick to enforce terms that would stop you from working predicated on the theory that if you cannot work, you cannot repay for debt. What makes it hard to get a job is that CRE could threaten to sue a company that employed you, even though CRE would probably not prevail in their suit, the cost of fighting them comes with a very large price tag that most companies are not going to be willing to pay. If I were in your position, I would call CRE and talk to whomever handles these contracts and work out a payment arrangement with them. I would make sure to tell them that I need to be able to work in order to pay and have them lay aside the term of the contract that would prevent me from working. Once a payment arrangement is made, the terms of the contract are fulfilled (as long as I make a reasonable effort to pay as agreed, that is). Ignoring them could well result in a suit being filed against you, but if you are proactive, they will not have a case. If they refuse reasonable efforts on your part to settle your debt then they give up their rights to recover. It might be worth your time to pay a lawyer for an hour consultation and run this problem by them, CRE has rights but then so do you.

The way England has gone.........the ONLY thing that will stop this ######### is for their next orientation to be EMPTY. And the next....and the next. Until then.........it's one tale of sorrow after another.

England just wanted the money from the school and maybe a tax credit from the federal government. You were used and abused. You have the CDL hard copy, and England can't take that from you. Plenty of jobs just waiting for you.
Take "Dipschitt" advice about the certified or any mail you must sign for.Toomanybikes Thanks this. -

Did you touch any of the curbs on the turns?
Since you owe them money, I assume you did company sponcered training? This is why you dont let someone else pay for your school. If you dont pay them, it will go on your credit report, but i dont think it would necessarily keep others from hiring you. Your dac will say "not eligible for rehire" which may make things difficult, but you should be able to explain yourself. Small O/O wont be able to hire you do to insurance. Almost all insurance companies wont insure anyone with less then a year experience. Big companies self insure and thus can hire anyone. -
Also, student loans are not subject tot he 7 year rule. They will stay there forever.Snowshoes Thanks this.
