Any good company can keep you moving. But it will all depend on what your definition of "good" is. If you define good as always new equipment, always the highest pay and benefits. Then you should always expect to sit, as they find the freight that allows them to maintain that "top pay/elite" status.
Personally, I'm not impressed with a shiny new Pete. Nor am I impressed with a $1500 pay check that the wife and kids get to spend....2 months before I see the pay stub.
P.S. Driving for a well founded company, with a well founded and dedicated customer base. Insures that you will not be sitting for up to 40% of your week.[/quote]
Hey danc...
Oh, I hear you but I'll be ###### if I'm finding or even hearing about any companies that aren't sitting a lot the last year or so here...
I'm certainly not flippin' prima-donna who needs to have only new equipment etc, top flight pay, etc... was just commenting on the last company I was with... they aren't a bad company, just having so rough a time keeping the trucks moving I couldn't afford to stay there...
I'll drive a mule pulled cart if if it pays right and gets me home at least once every 4-6 weeks for a couple days - making money is great but family matters a hell of a lot too in my world... been trying to get out of OTR for some time now but there simply aren't ANY local driving jobs where I'm located (south central Fl) so have to do what I have to to keep the bills paid, rigfht? -
i worked with Heartland from 05/08 til 08/09.Good sides $825 salary anything above 1875 miles i make 0.44CPM,get thru Atlanta 2-3 times per week, get about 60 hours a week(on weekends about 48 hrs)equipment well maintained, never had to wait for a load after being unloaded,90% of loads are 300 miles or less(so this depends on the driver)negative sides for me was inspection lane being long, most of the time 90% fuel at terminals so if inspection lane is open you must go thru(only bad experiance in Atlanta),out of route mile is relatively high, micro manage the driver, almost all loads are planned after 10 hrs break so you may end up taking break at cutomer, and drive all night(after midnight)to make early morning delivery. If you can handle what i mentioned above you will
be o.k.

Have you heard anything about Ohio Regional.
I see all these posts here, and they are all from other terminals.
I need to get back to work, so I will be going to Orentation a week from Monday.
On this site I have gotten to think many times that no posts about a company is better than allot of posts. -

Im currently looking in florida as well. This company dosen't sit to long. Most was 8 hours i was solo. Team we have sat 4 hours right after a run. We usually have them back to back but our DM is out and have a backup.
I dont have a year yet but ill be ###### if i dont know my worth on time everytime no accidents no critical events no tickets just get er dun. The only killer is lack of home time.
