Yea stickbow, that could have been the problem, LOL.
Lockedinaroom, yes, you can request a female trainer. Most companies don't like to put male and female student/trainers together because they are afraid of sexual harrasment suit. However, you may have to wait on a female trainer, they are in high demand and there isn't alot of them right now.

I'm sitting here patiently waiting on my trainer as well. Not a big deal they will call when they get someone.

Huh, wonder what it's like waiting on a load at that company? So technically then you are still in orientation and they should be paying you right? If not, I would be orientating elsewhere!

Chompi, if he's at Swift, he doesn't get paid for orientation. He starts getting paid when he's on the truck.

To the OP. In my honest little opinion which will buy you a glass of water.......you're probably still waiting due to the holidays AND because there is a shortage of mentors but also especially flatbed mentors. (that is if you're with Swift) However, if it was me I'd be calling. In fact I threw a fit for them to get my husband home and in the mentor class so I could get on the truck. And I do mean a FIT. Right there in driver services in the Phoenix terminal.

Lockedinaroom -- yes many companies allow you to request only a female trainer. Swift is absolutely one of those companies. However, you may have to wait for one as there are fewer female mentors than male mentors.

Hey T.Nana I wasn't aware of what company he was with, but 3 weeks! Time to go somewhere else! They should be compensating him for that. That is totally inexcusable and the poor guy shouldn't be left to starve for that long. Plus he still has to go through training which doesn't pay much. I am not insulting your company, if it is Swift, but NO company should do that. That is being taken advantage of!

Chomp: I said "if he's with Swift". I don't know who he's with either. *smiles*

If he goes with someone else, and this company has paid for training, he "may" be screwed.
