Waiting for decision

Like others said, it depends on the company. Getting my current job was a four week process with actual interviews and me having to do and send stuff during that time about once a week. My first job was given to me after 5 minutes of talking to a recruiter. They just used a database background check that could be pulled in a couple minutes without any real investigation done on their or a 3rd party's part.

Just make sure you call them after you apply. I didn't contact my first employer because everyone else always called me after I applied within a couple hours. I took that to mean they didn't want to even bother hiring or talking to me. I called four weeks later and they said they never had looked at my application and it got pushed to the side inadvertently. It was four weeks of wasted time I could of worked.
