Waiting for pre hire

    So I now have a pre-hire from SWIFT...School starts on the DEC 14th since they only qualified me for weekend classes. 18 weekends should put me in the middle of April to finish.. I go down to PHX Thursday to sign my acceptance papers for school. I remember 7 years ago when I was first there I was on the 8 week course so these 18 weekends might be kind of hard for me to travel back and for the from Prescott to Phx every weekend while I still have a job... I am trying to land a job at UPS in PHX as a package boy to help make it through, if I don't get that, I do believe I am stuck in Prescott still working for the county. Any information you all have here for me would be fabulous, and I thank you all for your help up until now. One question before I go. "After school at AIT, will I receive my CDL after I take the MVD course or do I have to be hired from a company first"????????

    You live approx. 125 miles from the school.You should ask them if they can fax all the paperwork to you to sign.That's a lot of gas just for one day and have to turn around and come right back home.

    I'm prepared for that. This actually gives me an opportunity to look for work in PHX after I sign the PW. I am trying to get my interview for Thursday from UPS. The UPS website only gave me M T W for interviews.

    No many of you "we"s don't know that and yes I have read the posts, all of them. I don't agree that the school needs to have you 'qualify' for a job when they have no stake into having you get one once the tuition is collected, it is part of the revolving door mentality that instill in people. The other thing is people think within this box, only focusing on specific companies and as mentioned here, take a look at the companies CSA scores but also with the thousands of companies out there, why just look at a few (I am not just talking about you).
