Always amazes me that some of these dealers have a "take it or leave it" attitude.

I believe MHC is the highest priced dealership around. If you live in the south central they are the only game in town so if you want to order a KW you have to go to them. I do not believe you can go to a KW dealer outside your area to order a new truck, you have to stay in your region. So your stuck. Obviously though a truck on the ground at any dealership is free reign.

You can order a truck at any dealer you want. I live in NE and know 4 guys who ordered trucks at KW in Yakima WA instead of dealing with MHC in Omaha. Most people stick close to home because it’s easy and convenient and you don’t have to fly somewhere to pick your truck up.

There attitude that they "are the only game in town" is counterproductive. They may be that for KW, but there are plenty of dealers for other makes. At the end of the day, they bank on "cult" following, but they lose the sales to people that realize 99% of the components in a truck are the same, no matter what brand. I guess they do have a monopoly on the PACCAR engines, but I'm not sure that is a bonus point.

In any case, they should make a customer feel valued. It's basic sales and the little things go a long way.

Good to know. I know Great Dane will make you go to the closest dealer but I guess they are different since they are company owned branches.

You don't have to go to the closest dealer for GD
    Not all are company owned

A dealer we used for years will never see us inside his door again. Typical story...the old man retired, passed the dealership down to his two sons (who hate each other...one works there and the other one just sees it as a cash cow but neither one of them are worth their keep) and things started to fall apart.
You couldn't get into their shop in a timely fashion because one bay was full of their racing cars. They got rid of the old time salesmen and hired some friends. One of their new salesmen told me "You guys have been dealing with us for years, you won't go anywhere else". Those are his exact words when I got a quote on a new T-800 . The price was almost 10 grand over a competing dealership and the delivery time was twice as long. I told him to stand by the door and wait for me to come in but when it got dark or started to rain he should go home.
You can write the rest of the script yourself. I know you've seen it a hundred times and it happens to everyone sooner or later.
It's time for me to go drive by the dealership and see if the dummy is waiting by the door.

Good lord !! A guy could knock that out in an afternoon and a couple hundred bucks for all materials and some good lights. Maybe less than that
