I got a quote from the MHC in Omaha last week and they were $20k higher than another Kenworth dealer for the exact same truck.
Waiting on New Trucks thread.

They were very much into long term relationships such as Morehouse that extends back into the 1930s , it included sales people like dick hauptman ( retired ) .
It even included long time buyers such as Bill Foose of Foose new jersey located in Fairlawn NJ who bought most of his trucks in omaha .
I had a near totaled truck rebuilt at kw omaha that I purchased at Rihm kw in st paul mn ..was still treated like family!
Dam shame what Mhc has done to a dealership that had such a following. -
Last thing I'll say is my ex father in law was the truck engine manager at cat in omaha.
He retired in 95 and people in that area took care of each other back then .
These days it's dog eat dog . -

I am not an O/O (although I have been trying to become the last two years) but today the company I work for received 9 new freightliners. This is in addition to the 36 brand new trucks that the company received a week ago. However, they can't even find drivers for all of them.

Prices, availability of credit, and rates all work together in a changing environment. Looks like credit is tightening. That usually decreases demand, and prices. The winners will be those with cash, or at least good credit sources. I don’t like being pessimistic, but when every day you hear the experts questioning the strength of anything, Jobs, Housing, Stock Markets, it’s usually a sign that change is coming. Somewhere through it all prices, interest rates and demand will return to a more reasonable rate. Till then, it’s anyone’s guess.

My Saturday breeze through Truckpaper found a few more new trucks out there and a lot of overpriced iron (especially based on Thursday's auction prices). I did see this one.....

It had been priced at $199,000 for about 6 weeks and they dropped it $5,000. I'd suspect more price cuts to come. Although it looks like a steal compared to this overprice T680 from MHC. Like why so high? But I guess they can ask any price they want, it doesn't mean there will be a buyer for it.

But here's where pricing should be heading...$172,000 for a brand new 579 with a 510 PACCAR. Nothing fancy but gets you to point A to B. I'm not sure what the deal was but seems to be a steal, which is probably why it's sold.
