Lol I have fleetmatics / verizon gps trackers in my trucks, when i drop it off at the shop I kill the batteries, so when they start on the truck they have to turn it on, so that shows up on the GPS, I can usually tell when the truck is almost finished as most of the time they idle the truck for 10 - 15mins or take it for a test drive.

Took my mechanic months to work out why when he always called me to say the truck was done, I was always driving through his front gate when he called.

Now he calls up and says, trucks done, but I bet you already knew that.

It's $50 a month for my GPS, which obviously is a rip off for an owner driver, but it's a God send for me. I know you can get cheaper but the verizon software is good.

It is hardwired to the batteries. It stays on 24/7 and one of the main reasons I put solar on the truck batteries.

Ha Ha I know about the complaining for sure. Ha Ha But I do get it, I would complain all the time if I had my old truck still.

    Update for the week

    April 1, 2023
389 Peterbilt - 66.........Whoa only 2 389X's for sale! People must be taking advantage of the great deal PACCAR financial is offering.
    579 Peterbilt - 68
    T680 KW - 109
    W9 KW - 34
Cascadia - 45 (Looks like a Southern Florida carrier didn't take delivery of some of Cascadia's...shocking I know).
    Volvo Family - 37
    Mack - 38
    International - 47

So overall for the week there's 27 more units available for sale compared to last week.

Well I see new trailer prices are crashing. This exact same trailer and unit (although it was a 2023 model) from Utility SLC, they quoted me $114,800 on September 9, 2022 for delivery in December 2022. 6 months later it's $99,900 and you can go pick it up tomorrow. It looks like some manufacturers are realizing they no longer have pricing power. IMO, it's still too high and is a $85,000 trailer. I just wonder when Great Dane starts adjusting their prices.

I wonder if those really are on the ground? Add two rows of e track, tire carrier, and chrome package for the s600 and that’s not a bad deal really. That’s probably close to $7000 in add on though.

But hey I’m really liking your posts on this. I normally do something similar but keep a mental note in my head, having this on paper so to speak is really valuable to track the market and have the best timing.

They have the dealership havent because dealerships that have trailers sitting bought em at high price so they cant sell them at a loss but if you order fleet specd dry van its 5 to 6k lower than dealership stock.

I appreciate it. Knowledge is power these days. It's definitely a double edged sword seeing these lower prices. I'm in at $94.5K for that exact same 2022 Utility trailer but with a Carrier Unit and $132K for 2022 Timpte GD reefer w/ a S700 TK unit. On paper I've already written them down 15% and I don't think that's enough.

Utility SLC changed up their ads up but a few weeks ago they did say they had some on the ground but maybe not anymore. I do agree it's a pretty good deal. That same set-up with a Great Dane would be around $115K from what I've seen. I'm partial to Great Dane's but the gap between a GD and Utility is not $15K.

It was a rough week for us in the trailer world. First my 2022 Carrier wouldn't defrost. It kept on timing out and throwing a code. It always happens right after we get a washout and set the temp to 0 or below. Damndest thing. It still holds temp fine but this isn't normal. Then my 6 month old S700 threw an alternator code and shut down with a load of fresh chicken on. I still don't have a full explanation of what went wrong but it was some kind of chip/board that went bad (something like HTM maybe I think they said)? All in all it's frustrating when your equipment is less than a year old and it has issues...especially unit issues.

Than I already know next week is going to bad as with the crappy market you have to book ahead and of course I have one going to North Dakota and they are expecting the worse winter storm of the year. FML.
