First time in 2 years I have seen a new tautliner trailer listed by the manufacturer as ready and in stock, in the yard ready for delivery, these were a 13 month wait 18 months ago. So they must be getting close to catching up.

This is in Australia, should give used prices a shot in the arm

Rideandrepair, Magoo1968 and dwells40 Thank this.

Update for the week of the 2023 and 2024 sleeper trucks for sale on Truckpaper in Canada and the US.

    April 8, 2023

389 Peterbilt - 67.........2 389X's still out there for those confident in a freight rebound in the near term!
    579 Peterbilt - 73
T680 KW - 131......The Fresno KW dealer had a fleet back out it seems...shocking!
    W9 KW - 27
    Cascadia - 49
    Volvo Family - 38
    Mack - 42
    International - 37

So overall for the week there's 20 more units available for sale compared to last week and 47 from 2 weeks ago. I have also seen dealers post new trucks for sale on Facebook that aren't on Truckpaper along new build slots available in August. Pricing is still unchanged and if these dealers want to move inventory something has to give. The freight market has rapidly deteriorated in the past few weeks and can't imagine anyone confident in making a large purchase unless they see any signs the market stabilizing.

Also I'm going to start showing how out of whack these dealers are even with auction prices. This week up for auction we have a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia, 505HP Detroit, 231K miles with a year left on warranty. It brought $89.5K at auction and with a 5% buyers total price was $94K. Compare that to these dealers:

    $135K....https://www.truckpaper.com/listing/for-sale/219691059/2020-freightliner-cascadia-126-sleeper-trucks

    $130K...https://www.truckpaper.com/listing/for-sale/213328869/2020-freightliner-cascadia-116-sleeper-trucks

    $119K...https://www.truckpaper.com/listing/for-sale/222346987/2020-freightliner-cascadia-126-sleeper-trucks

Local Volvo dealer is just as whacked on their prices, too. Same year, twice the miles, and still wanting $120K for VNL860 (non-Globetrotter), that are not even detailed (meaning polished wheels, proper deep interior/exterior clean, polished paint, etc).

I agree...the price spread between new and used isn't sustainable either. And I was just looking at Facebook and there's a couple of salesman that basically have a fleet of new white T680s and 579s for sale that a medium size fleet didn't take delivery of.

I'd like to think that's a typo. That dealer is actually one who has multiple white 579s for sale on Facebook.

I now work at a Toyota industrial dealership
Our labor rate just went up to $193.00 an hour. Glad I sold the business last year and retired from trucking.

    D.Tibbitt and Rideandrepair Thank this.

That is exactly why the mfg’s are pushing to lock it all down and go completely proprietary. Going to get worse, it blows for sure
