The feds have more to do with it than the manufacturers. However a truck leaves the factory is how they want it to stay, that’s why more and more things are being password controlled. Lower governed speed, idle shutdown timers, all that stuff is worth more points on the GHG scale. By 2025 when phase 2 is fully implemented the manufacturers will no longer be able to operate at a deficit on their points. So, in the government’s eyes, what good would it do to assess points based on a truck governed at 65 with a 5 minute idle timer and 450hp engine if once it hits the dealer it can go to unlimited speed with no timer and 565hp?

Have not seen one new truck on a lot in my area. But I am betting it will happen before the end of the year.

I haven’t seen many, but I’ve heard of units being ordered again to be put out in the lots. I’m going with a different brand, but for what peterbilt is now asking, I hope they sit for a bit.

Rideandrepair, Siinman and ducnut Thank this.

I figured it would be Peterbilt sitting first before any other truck. Everyone is trying to get better MPG's it seems now. I doubt my Volvo Dealer will have any new trucks on the lot this year. Maybe next year at best case since they do not even have any build slots until the end of the year.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

The bad thing about any Volvo refusals is they’ll be a spec you won’t want, because companies will doubt what Joel/Volvo has developed and keep ordering the same old thing.

Rideandrepair, TylerVS and Siinman Thank this.

Very true. I would not get anything unless it was spec'd to be an I Torque at this point.
