Same experience with WS. Salesman was trying to sell me a new one. Bragging on the improved parts network. Meanwhile I was waiting 4 weeks for a recalled coolant reservoir to be made. Lol. Built in Mexico shipped to Canada, big WS and a big Star put on the packaging, then shipped to Memphis where I ordered it from. Finally to Michigan Dealership for pick up. I could have had one fabricated for half the price. I hear they still have problems now, even though they’re in the Freightliner system. Not many parts in stock.
Waiting on New Trucks thread.

Not many parts in stock seems to vary. If it’s a dealer that focuses on the freightliner brand then yes, very limited WS parts on hand. If they sale and service more western star’s then they tend to keep more parts on hand.RedForeman, Siinman, Rideandrepair and 1 other person Thank this.

The 57X I went through at MATS sure was nice, though. I like the dash layout way better than the T680 I’m currently in.

Holy cow! That’s a lot of trucks and sadly a good sign.
So I called about one of those new KW T680s at the Fresno dealer and they said they are only selling those trucks to Central California companies. That’s a first for me and darnedest thing I heard. That area in particularly I’d assume would be one of the hardest hit in the ongoing trucking carnage.Long FLD, Cat sdp, ducnut and 1 other person Thank this. -
This one has the “Driver’s Lounge” sleeper package. The table drops and the bunk folds down, off the wall. It had matching upper cabinets on both sides, closet, and nightstand, with a large storage shelf around the top. I really liked the overhead lighting, as well. It was very well thought-out, from the brief time I was inside it. The rep said only the doors, frontend, bunk windows, and interior offerings were the differences to a Freightliner, when I asked about fuel mileage capability. He said it’ll do what the Team Run Smart drivers are doing with their trucks, as he used to work on that development team, helping maximize their efficiency.Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt, RedForeman and 5 others Thank this.

Maybe they’re saving them for potential CA customers, because their intent is to break it off in them as deep as they can, citing “truck shortage”, as these customers’ older fleets get retired due to mandates.RedForeman, Feedman and Siinman Thank this.
